I emphasize that all of these 30 drives have been barely used! They basically sat doing no I/O for 6 months serving as a large archive repository of music production audio samples libraries before the A/V project for which they were destined went down the tub (cf. see my other auctions for DSP card). Along with the 3 DAEs comes one DPE-R 5400 unit (circa 2000 SGI style DPE with 2 thor processor (SP) boards and SP memory), 2 SPS units (standby power supply) on a slab, a package of EMC NaviSphere v5 with unopened books for Windows NT / 2000 / XP, an LSI LSI40909 PCI 64 bit 66 Mhz HBA , and absolutely all cables needed for all parts of the machine (includes a long DBm to HSSDC (host HBA) cable, 6 DBm MALE-TO-MALE small loop cables to link DAE chassis FB-AL loops, 8 power supply cables, the 2 special cables to wire the SPS battery RJ45 control ports to the DPE-R). A setup like this would cost more than 15 000 USD even today, as even a single 146 GB drive is selling for 600 USD and drives with EMC firmware are even more expensive. The only desktop drives that approach the performance of the FC drives in this setup are the WD Raptors, but even using those would cost you much more! A single Raptor X 146 GB sells for more than 300 USD, the 73 GB costs 160 USD and the 36 GB 100 USD !
